The elephant enemies are a lion and a hyena. Elephants have really poor eyesight but they can see up to 60 feet (18.3 meters) in bright sunlight. Young male elephants joust and play with another young male elephant. Elephants eat 18 hours a day. Elephants are vegetarians. Elephants eat leaves, roots, bark and grass. For about two years the young calf will need to drink gallons of her mothers milk. Elephants are faster then an Olympic sprinters. Elephants cool themselves with water. Elephants have big ears to hear there predators come towards them. The mothers protect the calfs from predators. Elephants have big tusk but not calf when there young. Elephants are good to learn.
